April 2016 Highlights

A lot of great things happened in April!

Rain the Musical at the Old Globe

Victoria and I got great balcony seats for the $20 under 30 program ($20 tickets if you’re 30 years or younger). The show was really intense/emotional and incorporated lots of humor as well as drama.

Three Sisters Hike

Definitely challenging, but so worth it on a beautiful day. And you can take a dip at the end! Check out more photos here.

Triton 5k

After a month of training, I PR’d on the 5k 🙂 See my other post here.

Earth Weekend: Suzie’s Farm and Earth Fair

We took the kids to Suzie’s Farm “Strawberry U-pick” event… Unfortunately no more strawberries! But we got to pick beets and chard (there was also kale).

Balboa Park hosts Earth Fair every year – we got to check out lots of cool eco-friendly vendors and support their small businesses.

City Beat Festival of the Beers

Volunteered at another beer festival – this time with the cool folks at Amplified Ale Works. Check ’em out! They just opened a new tasting room in “Beer-amar” / Miramar, in addition to their PB location.

Beautiful Backyard Wedding

My cousin got married! Her small, intimate backyard wedding was beautiful and a lot of fun. My sister flew in from Maryland, and it was great having the whole family together to celebrate.

Liberty Public Market

We bought some soft cheeses from Venissimo Cheese, mac’n’cheese from Pasta Design, sausages from Mastiff Sausage Company and had a nice family picnic outside with some bread slices, avocados, grapes, beer, and wedding cake.

Paint and Vino

Yay for Groupon paint and wine nights! Best to go with someone you don’t live with… unless you want to hang them side by side and have your guests compare and decide whose is better. 😉

More Wine!

Amy helped organize an event for the SDSU Foodies Club – a guided wine tasting with two whites and two reds. I won three raffle items and got 2 bottles of wine and a painting 🙂
